RETURNING THE GIFT

approx. 30 pieces
Returning the Gift is a participative installation that I started during the art symposium “Nähe und Distanz” at the Stadtmuseum Leonding. Human participants create art objects which are given back to the earth as a present for her gifts. In this way living art installations are created through the further development of non-human beings.
The practice of gratitude towards "Mother Earth" is an artistic act that goes beyond the mere creation of an art object. It means not only creating an art object, but also building a space for communication and experience with the more-than-human world. What happens to us when we take care of nature? What happens to us when we understand non-human beings as co-creators? The further design of the installations through non-human beings is documented and accompanies the process as a digital photo exhibition.
